Iron Breakers: Endurance | 
so-soEnjoyable story of a man whose family is killed and escapes with his outsider slave who ends up saving his life and showing him the error of his prejudices. Kind of cliched. They don‘t end up together in this book but there are hints. Second book bonds are more tightly created in friendship - a mysterious benefactor emerges. There‘s a kiss between the two main characters, then the prince finds out he is actually the son of the enemy. Predictable?
