I almost used GRRM for fantasy author. The tagged book won him both the Hugo and Nebula Awards in 1979 & 80 respectively.

George R R Martin states that: The Lord of the Rings, The Great Gatsby, Gone with the Wind, Great Expectations, Lonesome Dove, Catch 22, and Charlotte's Web are "favorites all, towering masterpieces, books that changed my life".

EricQiao Sandkings was the pilot for the TV series The Outer Limits, and a parody episode on South Park. I watched them both when they came out but I didn‘t connect them to GRRM until Game of Thrones became a household name. My mind nearly exploded when I connected the dots. 😂 (edited) 7y

SleepyDragon He said in the Great American Read interview that Tolkien was were he learned not to be afraid to kill off a main character. Lol 7y
