In Dark Company is a novella. It starts with a mystery of a girl running through a corn field in Planters Mill. Kate Burkholder, the Chief of Police, is soon on the case. The girl doesn't remember anything about herself or how she arrived in Planters Mill. Soon, Burkholder finds herself in trouble again, but I think that's just the way she is made. 4⭐️ Quick Read

Very short story from the Kate Burkholder series (#9.5) featuring a young woman who shows up at an Amish couple‘s home during the night, injured and unable to remember anything at all, including her name. Kate works to figure out her identity and keep her safe from a male that has been trying to kill her.

This is one of the better novellas in this series but like always, it would be much better were it a full length story. Still, I enjoyed it.
