This book is one of the masterpieces of Modern Chinese Literature. The story is written in the backdrop of China in 1921. It is a story of Ah Q, a symbolic representative of China, who is caught in some uncanny events. Hsun has portrayed an urban life with all its peculiarities.The collision between hard realities of life and sweet dreams gives the book a pragmatic touch. Appealing!

The True Story of Ah Q | Lu Hsun

Tonight I sat on a hill and finished this "masterpiece of Chinese literature," which I shan't review because I'm missing too much cultural context to properly rate and discuss it. It DOES work well as a "perpetual loser stumbles through life" story, though.

My walk drained every last scrap of my energy, so now I'm gonna flop on my bed and read my daily WOLVERINE.

I started THE TRUE STORY OF AH Q when I took a break near the duck pond. I suspect I don't yet have enough knowledge of Chinese literature to really GET this satire, but I'll stick with it anyways.
