#bookspin for September complete!

It‘s good but not outstanding. Marriage of convenience turns into a smoldering love match but there are missteps and misunderstandings that threaten everything.

Second Leigh, featuring the Orchid Club, and I don‘t care for the club. It strains credulity. I don‘t intend to continue the series, but I did enjoy these characters, though Kit‘s obsession with the pleasure garden seemed excessive.

TheAromaofBooks I'm always drawn to the marriage of convenience trope. 4y

The great prophet @TheAromaofBooks has spoken - the book gods have decreed that the tagged is September‘s #bookspin and #doublespin is Stone‘s Zeus. I started Countess a few days ago, but I also started two or three others, so I‘ll get to it. Eventually.

TheAromaofBooks I am but a mortal mouthpiece for powers beyond my ken! 😂 4y

I heard about this series/author from @Amanda ‘s IG and it was soooo goooood! It has the rake/virgin trope, which is not a fave, but moves the action to a snails pace and lets the romance slow burn. I loved the characters, the delicate treatment of post-war PTSD and the heroine‘s strength and cunning. And so much consent talk! *fans self* I have the other two books in the series on hold and cannot wait to get to them. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was a fun read through smuggling and law breaking with love in the mix! Tamsyn just wants to save the day and she‘s not sure how it‘ll come about, and Kit just needs some money. They find that in each other and also romance, surprises, lots of the good stuff. I loved Kit, he‘s roguish but broken and he‘s provably one of my favorite hero‘s in historicals that I‘ve ever read. It‘s just a good book, I don‘t really want the series to end.
