The Miller's Tale
The Miller's Tale | Geoffrey Chaucer
1 post | 5 read
When an eclectic group of pilgrims take turns telling tales while on the road to Canterbury Cathedral, the Miller is determined to tell the best story and win the free dinner. He regales his fellow pilgrims with the best tale he knows—a rude and raunchy tale that would be considered scandalous even by today’s standards. This special edition of “The Miller’s Tale,” one of the most memorable tales from Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales, includes “The General Prologue,” “The Miller’s Prologue,” and “The Miller’s Tale,” in original Middle English and modern translated versions. HarperCollins brings great works of literature to life in digital format, upholding the highest standards in ebook production and celebrating reading in all its forms. Pickpick

Awesome 35 minute audio I used along with part of The Canterbury Tales. The Miller is intoxicated and tells of a comical love triangle between a carpenter, his young wife, and a male who is living with them. It‘s 1300‘s-style crass 😳

Our co-op opted to skip this tale due to content but I included it at home. Lots to talk about here! All three editions I used had different words for body parts, etc so there was also giggling involved #homeschool
