“‘Pare down to the essence, but don‘t remove the poetry.‘ The poetry is the humanity.

If that extra bowl reminds you of your grandma and brings you joy every time you look at it, well then, don‘t remove the poetry. Minimalism is as much an art form as it is a practice. There are no prescriptions or perfect answers. And where it starts and stops in your life is a bit unpredictable. Let it be.”

Pickpick

Coleman describes minimalism as paring down to just the essentials. She found herself often reaching for the same few tools and the same “trusty” recipes, so why not get rid of the rest. The cookbook begins how to choose which tools and gadgets to get rid of and which items Coleman used most. When suggesting the pots and pans she finds most useful, she helpfully includes tips on how to care for them. Recipes look great!
