I was counting down the months until the end of my deployment. My days were spent working on military vehicles, and I spent my nights playing video games that would distract me until I could leave Staff Sergeant Garrett Reid behind. That was when I met him: Kai Bannon, a fellow gamer with a famous stream channel. I never expected to become fixated on someone who'd initially been a rival. And I'd never expected someone who oozed charm to notice me-a guy known for his brutal honesty and scowl. Deployed soldier & video game streamer fall in love online. The gamer has social anxiety & agoraphobia. I liked the story a lot & it would be a pick except the ending resolution was way too fast & tidy & left out details I really wanted to be included. 🕹🕹🕹 #romantsy

STRONG SIGNAL is very much about mutual support. Garrett and Kai each recognize who the other is and what he needs to be his best self. Kai has severe anxiety, and Garrett reconsiders his own behaviour instead of expecting Kai to become someone else. I love this new trend of romances where one partner works to understand the other's mental health needs without an adjustment period of the "oh, this is weird, but I guess I can work through it" kind.
