I've decided to slowly make my way through all of Laurie Colwin. And not just because I bought swell new copies for the library. This one is overdue and cannot be renewed, do it comes first 😅

My third Laurie Colwin and maybe my favourite so far? Perhaps because I identified with Geraldine's ongoing struggle to figure out who she's going to be when she grows up. Geraldine feels the pressure to be doing more, and that whatever she is doing is not enough. Colwin's books are light on plot (nothing happens/everything happens) but they have a sly humour and quiet wisdom I appreciate.

I got boosted yesterday and it's -25 C so all I'm doing today is reading.

This book was given to me by a friend. We don‘t really share the same taste in books so I didn‘t care for the story much. It‘s about the changes experienced by a woman who doesn‘t seem to know what she wants from life. She is not so much an ‘actor‘ as she is the one ‘acted upon.‘ I lost patience with her many times. Can‘t recommend very highly, so only 2.5 out of 5 stars.
