Rachel's parents have separated, sending her father to Florida. Rachel goes to many lengths in order to see him and force her parents to get back together. Her wishful thinking leads her to some comical situations, but more often to situations where she doesn't choose to do the right thing and suffers the consequences. It was an ok book. This book would appeal to middle grade students.

You really have to be a YA lover to get through this one as an adult. Being a certified LMS, I could see upper elementary and middle school kids being into the book. I'm about halfway done, and have come to realize I need to read this book with the eyes of a teacher/LMS.
