Did you know that businesses work better when people aren't raging jerks? And therefore you should avoid hiring them?

Mind-blowing. Who could have imagined.

Just managed to avoid getting poured on during my #audiowalk to Target. Reason for new audiobook subject speaks for itself. Over 3 hours for the #24b4Monday #Readathon - not bad for a work day.

Much of this book is about keeping assholes out of your organization. If you're in a management or hiring position that might be useful. As I'm not, I only found the last few chapters helpful but I did take lots of notes on those so it's not too shabby.

This is why I need to stay the hell away from the complainers and haters I work with. I don't want to feel the way I did at the end of this year. I want to continue loving my job and making. It work for me when it's not going my way.

Julsmarshall So true! 8y
Carol Libraries are full of wonderful staffers who love books and are creative geniuses who know the meaning of teamwork. 8y
Carol Crap. Hit send too soon! They are also full of backstabbing, immature, entitled cretins who cause chaos and heartbreak every day. Stay strong! Love the work, hate the people. I walk that road sometimes too. Just remember why you got into this field in the first place & find your tribe! 8y
ThatLibrarianLady Yes, Carol! That's exactly why I'm reading this book and thinking about all this. I absolutely love my field and I'm vowing to spend this year finding the people that will keep me enthusiastic about it and forgetting the people who are always bringing me down. 8y
