3.5/5 - This is a pretty good collection of ghost stories from West Virginia, one of the states I briefly lived in as a kid. This basically reads like a textbook about ghosts and haunted places, which is common for these types of books, but not scary in the least. I‘d prefer more narrative accounts of hauntings to introduce a locale or at least each of the different regions. Then the author could have provided all of the history and details.

JoeMo I tried to hold off on reading scary and creepy things until October, but I failed…I‘m just too excited for the most wonderful time of the year!! 🎃 #bookspinbingo (edited) 3y

For once, I found a book of ghost stories from my state that I hadn‘t already heard most of! I enjoyed this one a lot.

Reading this makes me feel like a bad West Virginian. I had forgotten about John Henry. It‘s cool to know somebody did the research and proved he actually lived. Super fun read so far, even if I did already know some of the stories.
