pickI just reread this series, and it is still so much fun. Meg Cabot is great at blending unlikely premises in a believable and entertaining way. She really invests in her cast of characters instead of letting readers take the premise at face value, and it gives the series heart. These were still nail biters the second time around, and they still made me laugh out loud. I'm on the hunt for another #cozymystery series, but it will be hard to top these
pickMeg Cabot is a master at the snarky humor. And the first person narration just zips along, as if Heather is sitting beside you telling you her story. In fact, Cabot's breezy writing is so masterful that it didn't even hit me until literally the last page that the writing is in first person PRESENT TENSE. Seriously! My least favorite tense, and I didn't even notice for 360 pages!
I don't know why it took me so long to continue with this series (since 2010!), but I'm really enjoying this.
