Kevin has a bad attitude. He's the one who laughs when you trip and fall. In fact, he may have been the one who tripped you in the first place. He has a real knack for rubbing people the wrong way—and he's even figured out a secret way to do it with poems. But what happens when the tables are turned and he is the one getting picked on? Rhyme Schemer is a touching and hilarious middle-grade novel in verse about one seventh grader's journey from bully-er to bully-ee, as he learns about friendship, family, and the influence that words can have on people's lives. Mehso-so

Ended up reading this one last night. Seventh grade who feels ignored at home takes it out of kids at school until his secret, poetry writing, is discovered and the bully becomes bullied.
It was predictable and a little unrealistic. The message was good though and that saves it from a pan.

I feel that the main character in this story would be able to have a friendship because we are kinda the same we have similars and i feel like we could get along really well

Pickpick

LOVED this book! Read it in a single sitting (sort of). Kevin is a bully turned bullied. Mrs. Little, school librarian, is the hero. And there's found poetry! I couldn't ask for much more. Short novel in verse, perfect even for reluctant readers especially the boys. Did I mention I loved this book?

BrittanyArcand5 Sounds awesome! Can't wait to read it!! 8y

Talking about the school librarian:
"Mrs. Little isn't even a teacher/ so why can she send me to Hartwick?/ Life's mysteries/ abound."
I've heard that my share of times -- she can't do anything, she's just the librarian. ?

I bought this novel in verse without knowing much. Endorsed by Kwame Alexander, what more do I need to know? 😀 Now that I am home, I know this is about a boy who goes from bully to bullied while learning about friendship.

A middle school verse novel with a male MC who (secretly) loves words & poetry? With an awesome school librarian? I am so there. #latestread #review
