I'm over here busy drinking spiked egg nog and weeping over this volume of DC Bombshells. This one is PRIME Harley/Ivy queer ship, folks. My queer little heart is about to explode. God bless my new deity, Marguerite Bennett. I wish marvel committed themselves to queer characters and content like DC has lately. #gaaaaaaaaaay #harleyandivyforever

WarpedSweetness I've been wanting to read these! 6y

This series continues to serve (unfortunately contemporary) realness in the WWII/fantasy settings. This volume was even better than the last, with plenty of fun zingers in between moments of truth and conviction and pure goodness from our heroines.

Godmotherx5 The artwork is well done. I might have to get vol. 1. 6y
danimgill @Godmotherx5 I‘ve loved the artwork throughout the series so far! I‘ve been reading these on hoopla and all the volumes to date are on there so it‘s an easy binge read too 😊 6y
Godmotherx5 Holy crow, thanks. I‘m to Hoopla!!!! (edited) 6y
Godmotherx5 @danimgill I found Vol. 1 on Hoopla. My weekend turned crazy so I looked at the first three pages. Still, I‘m excited & have you thank 📖 6y

Another similarity to the Lumberjanes: a shout-out to kickass female role models. (For those not familiar with Dorothy Kamenshek, she was a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League on the Rockford Peaches and was one of the inspirations for Geena Davis's character in "A League of Their Own".)

I don't know if this is referring to the general feminine term for lumberjack or the series, but I genuinely hope that it's the latter. I love the thought of a crossover with this series - since the Lumberjanes have appeared with the Gotham Academy kids, we know they exist in the DC universe, so anything's possible. (And seriously, how are there no Lumberjanes action figures yet? Funko should be all over that by now.)

alanacristin Lumberjanesactionfiguresyeeeesssss!!!! 😍😍😍 7y
ErikaB @alanacristin I would buy all of them in a heartbeat, regular financial obligations be damned! (But I'd settle for no less than the five main characters plus Jen - no Jen, no deal.) 7y
alanacristin Each Lumberjane should come with a bonus creature or companion. April + bonus mer-rocker, ohhh Jen with bonus Rosie 😍😍😍 and all the hardcore lady types swoon 💞 7y

Part of my haul from Saturday (Free Comic Book Day). I also picked up some great issues and exclusives. I've been dying to read the end of The Fade Out, and I tend to love everything by Kurtis Wiebe. The Catwoman I picked up because one of my nurses last week was the sister of Genevieve Valentine (whose novels I LOVE), so I thought it was time to give her run on this book a try. Where to begin? #FCBD17 #crashqueensdoFCBD17 @RavenRenegade

queerbookreader Is that Catwoman volume part of her new 52 series? Is it like vol. 7 or something I forget which one but the white cover looks familiar 7y

Another action-packed volume of DC Bombshells! This series just continues to get better and better. For something that tends to have a lot of over the top scenes, writer Marguerite Bennett always manages to include small, poignant emotional moments between characters.

queerbookreader Bennett is an outstanding comic writer, she does amazing work in all her series. I can't wait to read her take on Batwoman!! 7y
