The Transmigration of Timothy Archer
The Transmigration of Timothy Archer | Philip K. Dick
2 posts | 5 read | 4 to read
The final book in Philip K. Dicks VALIS trilogy, The Transmigration of Timothy Archer brings the authors search for the identity and nature of God to a close. The novel follows Bishop Timothy Archer as he travels to Israel, ostensibly to examine ancient scrolls bearing the words of Christ. But, more importantly, this leads him to examine the decisions he made during his life and how they may have contributed to the suicide of his mistress and son. This introspective book is one of Dicks most philosophical and literary, delving into the mysteries of religion and of faith itself. As one of Dicks final works, it also provides unique insight into the mind of a genius, whose work was still in the process of maturing at the time of his death.

no one else in the world can start a book the way #PKD does. 🖤 #myPKDjourney

Gina Have you ever read some of his short stories in the 50's magazine Amazing Stories? I've been trying to hunt down copies I can afford. And forget the ones with H.G. Wells. I'd need to win the lottery to buy those... 9mo
dystopianaut @gina no but i would LOVE to! 🖤 have you ever looked at thephildickian‘s website/facebook/ebay store? i‘m not sure if he has any or if he does how the prices would compare, but the collection he has amassed is astounding and he is always selling bits & pieces! 9mo

I read this Philip K. Dick novel awhile ago. I understand that Dick was interested in Gnosticism and this is the first novel of the Valis Trilogy dealing with that topic. Here's my review: https://kammbia1.wordpress.com/2012/01/20/book-review-17-the-transmigration-of-t...
