Strange; I expected this book to have been a pageturner. Basically we seem to have messed ourselves up re;sex. Early cultures were concerned with incest and possession, Judaic belief added a prescription against homosexuality which was incorporated and exacerbated in Christianity which frowned upon sexuality outside of reproduction. If you are interested in what we get up to in the bedroom and society reaction this book is a good starting point.

Read this one in Turkish. I learned so much from it, it's still one of my favorite books.
It's not an easy read. Old people did some crazy shit.
