Pickpick

Our narrator Nick is now approaching 30 and still drifting a bit though he has a first novel under his belt. Notable new characters we meet in this one include Myra Erdleigh and Dicky Umfraville while both Stringham and Widmerpool make notable appearances at a school reunion at the book's close. As usual the social comedy is interspersed with frequently penetrating observations on life, love and human nature.

I have finished novel #3 in Powell‘s 12 volume Dance to the Music of Time. We follow Nick Jenkins as he navigates the post university years through the, sometimes several, marriages of his friends, the machinations of Mrs. Erdleigh (pictured), the dubious parties of Mrs. Andriadis and her new young hanger- on and, of course, Widmerpool. I am reading one volume a month and thoroughly enjoying the experience so far.
