I love when I find the book that my Kindergarten class wants to hear over and over again, (and that I don‘t mind reading over and over!), and this is the one!

I Am Not a Chair! is a very funny story about a giraffe who continues to be mistaken for a chair by other animals. A fantastic read-aloud, and also makes for a great sequencing book.

Really cute and bright illustrations throughout!

I Am Not A Chair (F, SSYRA) by Ross Burach is such a cute story. I love the hidden message behind the simple concept: I am not a chair! This is ideal for a RT as well as a RA! This F story is the hilarious tale of a giraffe who keeps being mistaken for a chair. The illustrations are adorable and will definitely have students giggling. One of the few books I've read for story time that have actually made the kids laugh out loud. I usually read 3-4 books I think are fun, but this one got the best reaction. 👍😊

This is such a funny book! Giraffe is so excited to meet new animal friends, but the problem is they think he's a chair! He's constantly getting sat in by someone. Will he finally get to be himself?
