Christmas with the Chrystals is a gorgeous short story about how an influx of cheery young cousins at Christmas warms the heart of a haughty grandmother and lights up her chilly home. This very special Yuletide story is accompanied by several Streatfeild Christmas extracts from her many children's novels, including an (almost) never-before-seen sequel chapter to her bestseller Ballet Shoes. There are also recollections of the author's own childhood Christmases (taken from the Noel Streatfeild Christmas Holiday Book).

One for Noel Streatfeild fans - a happy discovery in the British Library gift store, this anthology includes Christmas chapters from Theatre Shoes, Circus Shoes and Tennis Shoes, as well as a Christmas short story, remembrances of Christmases from Streatfeild's childhood and a chapter on what happened to Pauline, Petrova and Posy after Ballet Shoes ends. A slightly odd assemblage, but so much fun to revisit some of my favorite childhood books

LeahBergen Ooo, I don't know about the bits that are only excerpts from her other books but I would be interested in the Christmas tale and the continuation of Ballet Shoes. 👍🏼 9y
