Starting Omnibus 8 tonight on my zombie Manga series and already 1/2 way through. I like this series, but it's definitely not for everyone. Now I need to hunt down book 11...

#anditsaugust #day12

Don't mean to impose on the tastes of others when I say #manga #needsmorelove on this site (especially as that basically translates to "I wish my posts got more likes, wah"). Much of it and the culture surrounding it's toxic, to the point that it may indeed be better for some people to play it safe and avoid it entirely. That said, I'll put a good word forward when I think a series earns it, and thus far this one's earned it.

#rockinmay day 8 - #zombie

Really want to snap up the latest volume, but I'm tempted to wait for the next manga sale at #barnesandnoble , since this and the Master Keaton series bear a relatively hefty price tag.

For those who find The Walking Dead a little too dour but aren't averse to the violence, l am a Hero is well worth your time. Engaging the zombie outbreak plot on a moment-to-moment basis rather than the epic scope of that former series, this #manga also places a greater emphasis on the humanity of the turned, both for pathos and dark humor. Obviously, on top of that, the artwork is consistently gorgeous. Can't wait for vol. 3 later this month.

The world is ugly, the characters are ugly, but the story is fantastic. Hanazawa gives the zombie story device a great Japanese twist. With dark settings and odd angles, he manages to convey a unsettling atmosphere to his already unsettling narrative.

The action sequences are wonderfully illustrated, with plenty of great chase scenes and tense moments. I Am a Hero is recommended for anyone who likes a little bit of horror.
