Mehso-so

This fantasy book provides fascinating insight into major historical figures of the era & also offers an intimate look into Tokugawa Ieyasu's thoughts as it pertains to tough military decisions he has had to make, yet the translation is bad, to be blunt. It uses modern day descriptives to describe scenery & setting of the 17th-18th centuries that creates terrible imagery. Dialogue's also way too 21st century. A better translation is needed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The history in this, the political intrigue that surrounded the beginning of the Tokugawa Era, is so beautifully represented in this book. Badass ninjas and forbidden love are a bonus. 👌🏾 I'm so happy I get to read this for a class. Did I mention that it's the novel that inspired the Basilisk manga series?? ✨ #diversereads #ninjas #historical #japan #basilisk
