Blue Willow | 
pickBlue Willow is a HF Newbery award winner. This novel is about the young daughter of a migrant family in San Joaquin Valley after the Great Depression. This is a very special book to me because the author,Doris Gates, actually worked with migrant children from Fresno, California (where I am from) to write the book and I was first introduced to this book when I was in the 3rd grade. This novel is great for RA, LC, and IR.

DominiqueL The ESOL strategies that I will apply are teaching technical vocabulary supporting key concepts, continually monitor students‘ comprehension, place language in meaningful context, asking numerous questions which require higher level thinking responses simplifying my speech by making it slower and redundant, and giving enough wait time for second language learners to respond to questions. #UCFLAE3414F17 6y
