Second star wasn't one of my favorite books I've read but it was still a good quick read.
panIn this #contemporary #retelling of #PeterPan, the cast (minus the entire tribe of natives and Capt. Smee) is reimagined on the #beaches of #California. Although it makes for a good #beachread, it hardly holds any contextual similarities to the original story aside from their names. None of the characters were likeable, the romance was quick-paced and linear, and I felt no sympathy for the rich, privileged protagonist. Not a recommended read.
Maybe Wendy was never meant to be with Peter. Maybe he was there to show her what she could be. To push her to be the Lost Girl she would need to be. "Life isn't about watching from the beach."
