Emotional first-generation American story tied up with mother-daughter relationship. Get tissues!

Thanks for the tag @Karisimo
I love this author so I just bought this book based on that fact and it's the 1st in a series. Now I have opened it for May #bookspin and see there are no chapters, tiny type, filled top to bottom of page with very few breaks. May take a minute😁
@TheAromaofBooks
I found this so much fun. It was just what I needed when I read it!
The snarky, unreliable MC along with her Podcaster "friend" trying to solve the murder of her best friend was fast paced and entertaining. It's a perfect beach read.
Thank you to #Celadon Books and NetGalley for a Kindle copy advance in exchange for an honest review.
This is hard for me to review as I jumped right it, got quickly bored but then it kick- started half way through. The 2nd half was too jam packed so it felt rushed but at least compelling enough to finish and call a light pick.
With a non linear plot it touched marriage and motherhood roles, losing and finding your identity and self-worth.
Thank you to #Celadon Books and NetGalley for the eArc in exchange for an honest review.
"Shades" of Gabby Petito.... this was a well written, fast-paced, true crime lean of a mystery/thriller.
How far will you go to protect your child? How do different socioeconomic classes handle trial by media? Highly recommended!
Thank you to William Morrow & NetGalley for the advanced Kindle edition in exchange for an honest opinion.
Kissenger's intimate, raw, honest personal telling of mental illness. The investigative journalist researched and wrote about the subject for decades before unpacking the details of her own life. Heartaches and shame but also lots of love, resiliency and courage. Highly recommend!
Thank you to #Celadon Books and NetGalley in gifting me a Kindle edition in exchange for an honest review.
I'm finally digging out of Covid haze. It's been a long 2 weeks but this happened before that❣️. My son got engaged....And also November #bookspin with a favorite author!
@TheAromaofBooks
I didn't love my 3rd novel by Berney as much as The Long and Faraway Gone and November Road. His attempt at tackling the heady subject of child abuse left me wanting more development of some of the side characters and less obvious plot advancement and conclusion. I will continue to read him though.
I want to thank William Morrow and NetGalley for advancing an ebook in exchange for an honest opinion,
I finally finished this. It is a light pick for me. It took 3 tries and I needed to get 1/3 in of a short book but then it clicked...and sticked : )
Excited to relax with October #bookspin after an awful week of work and kitchen renovation screw ups!
@TheAromaofBooks
I was recommending even before Reese!
A grandma and her daughter and granddaughter become a trio of mystery solvers after overcoming their own dysfunctional relationships. Hopefully the start of a new cozy series!
Thank you to NetGalley & William Morrow for an advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

First vaca in 4 years with a fave author for August #bookspin and new bookmark from Bee store in Myrtle Beach❣️
@TheAromaofBooks
Loads of themes like resilience, family loyalty and trust, consequences of actions. Four alternating POVs with each full back story as well and unique plot perspective.
I zipped through first half then it felt a bit Hallmark movie, which isn't my cup of tea.
Overall, a good, fast summer read.
Thank you to Celadon Books and NetGalley for advancing a Kindle copy in exchange for an honest review.

Vacation starts Aug 3rd and I'm hoping for a trade paper #bookspin pick to take on the plane and beach!
@TheAromaofBooks
I just recently bought July #bookspin and can't wait to start. 20 pages left in June's pick, The Whistling Season. I love Doig❣️

1. Germany...so much that I would want to see from so many books
2. Yes. It was different and interesting - The Easy Life in Kamusari
3. Right now I'm thinking The Western Star by Johnson. The Longmire series is my happy place.
Thanks for the tag @Eggs
I opened June #bookspin and found a surprise I left to myself! Favorite author from a favorite bookstore I visited with favorite person @mrp27 on vacation a few years ago❣️
@TheAromaofBooks
On paper this book should have been right in my wheelhouse but I struggled from nearly the beginning. Nothing worked for me. It didn't feel real or authentic.
It would be highly unlikely that 5 teens would talk so conversationally to the police. The author needed to get the background and story out but this all felt forced.
I want to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to read the Kindle ARC edition in exchange for an honest opinion
Just finished with my morning coffee. I didn't get this at Vroman's...just pairing a favorite bookstore with favorite author🙂
I loved this book by debut author Jain. It was topical, timely and felt so real - race and class relations, 1st and 2nd generation immigrant experiences, friendship, divorce, mental illness, moral quandary.
Multiple POVs were complex and well developed. The compelling plot line was revealed all throughout the book which allowed the reader time to think and come to his/her own conclusions.
Thank you to William Morrow & NetGalley for the eArc.
I really enjoyed this show and really enjoyed the audio all these years later.
March #bookspin. This has been on my shelf for years. Finally time to give it and the author a try.
@TheAromaofBooks
I did it!! I finished. This was A LOT! I definitely made the right choice in listening on audio from Libby and leaving my 1st edition neatly closed on the shelf. I love listening to him❣️
Dec 2022 #bookspin finally completed
