#WorstRead2024

May's stinker was The Puzzle Wood. I might have had too high expectations. The ARC read like an early draft. The finished novel might be more well-polished and historical inaccuracies might have been edited out.

Let's see what June brings.

Leftcoastzen 😂don‘t hold back , tell us what you really think. Some months are stinkers . 22h

My April #WorstRead2024 just wasn‘t for me. On the plus side, it was the only book I didn‘t like last month. 26 good (some great) reads in a month are #bookproblems I can handle. 🤓

Bracket by @CSeydel 💙

Bookwormjillk I didn‘t finish that one. Not for me either. 1mo
Kitta 26 in a month wow! By original goal was 26 this year 😆 I don‘t get much reading time. 1mo
Yuki_Onna @Kitta @Read4life Same here! My tentative goal is 50 each year. I'm absolutely overwhelmed by how much and quick people read on here... 😂👏 1mo

#WorstRead2024 @CSeydel

I've read a lot in April. Not all of the books were good. None was abysmal, which is good actually. When choosing the Worst Read for April I went with the most disappointing book. Only to then realise, my March Worst Read was even more disappointing. So, here is the first third of the year reading disappointments summed up. 😁

Amandakay Omg I love this idea! 😂 1mo
CSeydel Oh that‘s too bad - Preston can do better 1mo

#WorstRead2024 @CSeydel

There are several more hours left in the month, but I'm sure the worst read of March was "The Mars House".

Amiable I love that you are doing “worst reads” brackets! 😄 2mo

Before I forget to post this again

Here's my #WorstRead2024 for January and February and the "Winner"

Can't exactly say why Once Upon an Algorithm won, no lost(!!) against City of Stardust, I disliked the cover a bit more.

@CSeydel

Hooked_on_books This is the first time I‘ve seen a “worst” card. I love it! 😂 3mo
lil1inblue This is frickin' fantastic. 😂 3mo
CSeydel @Hooked_on_books Recognition for those books we love to hate! 3mo

willaful I'd like to do one, but I don't usually finish books I absolutely hate. 3mo
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Love this! I had an e-arc of The City of Stardust, but I just couldn‘t get into it.. 3mo
julesG @Hooked_on_books I'm thrilled @CSeydel came up with it this year. It's been fun going through my one star reviews and deciding which was the worst for January and then February. Also much easier than picking a favourite. 3mo
julesG @willaful Does that mean you don't review bailed books? 3mo
julesG @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage It's overhyped, in my opinion. And I am, again, flabbergasted at the quality some books have that get a publishing contract with a big house. Maybe I should actually try to publish some of my raw first drafts. 😜 3mo
CaramelLunacy The whole battle of the worst is great - especially like that there's a wild card in there 3mo
willaful Mmmm... most of the books I DNF aren't because I hated them either. 😂 Just because I found them dull or not my cup of tea. But maybe I'm taking the whole thing too seriously. 😁 3mo
RaeLovesToRead Omg I totes want to do this now 🤣 3mo
