I loved this book! Nada wants to forge her own way and launch the app she's been working on, Ask Apa, while also staying true to her family's Muslim traditions and expectations. When her friend Haleema takes her to a Muslim conference in the hopes of finding someone for Nada who could be a suitable husband, Nada runs into Baz, who she has a long history with.

Refreshing, original, uplifting, charming. A testament to the magic of confidence! Written in 2012, but takes place in the 1980‘s, and the references to the trends and technology was a fun throwback. This was my #ReadOrDonate selection for April. Usually I donate them once I‘ve read them, but I‘m keeping this one. 🇫🇷

Bookchain progress - I read almost all graphic novels and illustrated works for this set. With an emphasis on books with LGBTQIA+ and POC main characters. They were all good but I think my favourites were Saving Sunshine, Fence: Redemption and The Sea in You (a Little Mermaid adaptation).

I was curious to read Yardley's earlier work. This was a contemporary vanilla steamy romance between two restaurant chefs. The conflict/obstacle was mild and not particularly self-inflicted, which I always appreciate. Lots of cooking, and sex in cupboards.

I probably would have bailed on this one if it wasn't my seasonal cozy pick. It seems like the story was a bit unnecessarily drawn out, and didn't have as much to do with the theme of St. Patrick's Day as I thought it would. Probably not a series I would read any more of.
