Great keynote address by speaker Raina Telgemeier at TCAF this morning. Looking forward to reading her new book.
Just found out our key note speaker at the TCAF for Educators Day is going to be Raina Telgemeier. 😍
Reads like a story in the Enquirer. Easy to read but lacks reference to sources. In the author's note Wolff states that many of the stories herein are an amalgam of multiple sources and that he's made the judgment about what is likely the truth. I still feel that Trump is a horrible leader but I don't need Wolff to tell me that. Trump does it himself in the speech he made to the CIA. Reading his speeches is more painful than listening to them.
Picked up this tee at Fanexpo. A favourite now 😍
He does speak some truth only a smoker would understand. 9 months smoke free for me but he's right when he says "Whether I actually smoke or not, my personality is a smoker‘s personality. My story is transfixed by cigarettes, and my body cannot forget what I put it through during those years. The life I led is smoke-screened to such an extent that I have to get very close to even see it. Sometimes it makes my head spin.”
This pic came up on my Facebook feed today. A few years ago Lawrence Hill came in to give a book talk to our English classes. He was engaging and thoughtful. The kids loved him and so did the staff. He surprised me by sending me this signed copy of his book. Such a lovely man.
What a great story. He's a talented story teller. I really enjoyed his accounts of growing up with his mom. His admiration and appreciation of her is obvious The book is about his mother as much as it is about him. The only thing that would have made it better would have been listening to the audio version narrated by Trevor himself.
After reading this, I'm not sure I'll be able to read the occasional historical romance novel in the same way again 😉
Got to meet the multitalented Alan Cumming a few weeks ago. Looking forward to reading his latest book.
