Life is fun to live while things are going well, but boring to write about.

I enjoyed this book. They call it a knife fighting book, but it's actually just prison fighting 101. Not an exaggeration, either, the author learned his martial art in Folsom Prison. As far as knife fighting is concerned, Pentecost criticizes other schools of thought more than he explains his own, and a lot of what he calls “self-defense“ would actually be murder. I enjoyed this quick read, but I will not be adding these techniques to my routine.

I tried to get through “Don‘t Hassel The Hoff”, but I could only make it halfway through. Sure, a part of that was boredom, but I also felt disappointed by David Hasselhoff. Much of the narrative is just a braggadocios pat on the back, while the book lacks any of the more personal insight that a fan generally wants. In short, “Don‘t Hassel The Hoff” is a hassle to read.

This book is horrible. My whole life people have been telling me about how I need to read the Dictionary, but I don‘t see what all the hype is about. It‘s too wordy and you would think that the author was paid by the word. What‘s worse, I couldn‘t find a plot anywhere. Worst book ever!

This is the first Steinbeck novel I read and I became a fan immediately. The Winter of Our Discontent has some of the best character development I've seen in a story, and Steinbeck creates tension and release beautifully. This book displays the talent that has made Steinbeck one of the greats.

Joe Hearty goes missing again, and it‘s up to his goody two-shoes brother, Frank, and his two stoner nephews to find him. In this raunchy farce, the Hearty family sets out on an adventure and along the way they make friends that help them battle a litany of Bayporch‘s vilest criminals. Come along and meet characters like Sheriff‘s Deputy Debbie Downer, and bad guys like Murderin‘ Murdock as the Hearty Bros show Bayporch who runs the town.
