TBR unruliness. So many many TBRs waiting to go vertical (my TBRs stay horizontal until they‘ve earned the honor of going vertical by being finished…. …. I‘m weird lol 🤷‍♂️).

I‘ve tried reading multiple books at once, but I get literary headaches trying to keep track of multiple storylines, characters and worlds at once. So it‘s one book at a time for me.

Today is my 6-Year Bookaversary of being a book-obsessed bookworm. Most of my life I avoided books, didn't have the time, was not interested. For several years before 10/15/15, I started feeling the pull. No matter where I was, I started gravitating towards books. On 10/15/15, I succumbed, walking through a random store, a book caught my eye. I bought it, I read it... I bought more, read more. Then more. I converted.

Home now. My little NYC haul:

Harry Potter New York stuff:
Ginny Weasleys wand (Ginny > Hermione)
Butter beer in bottle (didn‘t try it yet)
A Chocolate Frog (wander which wizard card I have)
Harry Potter/Sorcerers Stone SE Pop up.
HPNY and Deathly Hallows keychains.

12 books from 4 or 5 bookstores. The NY book from the Empire State Building.

Also got 3 Lego sets, but had them shipped from the BIG 5th Ave Store.

Nice day for a Central Park stroll. Don‘t have a book with me for once, but just a walkin‘. Going on 4 miles for me, which is pretty good for this usually introverted homebody. Started at 26th street in Chelsea and just started walking north, still goin, will either hit the Harlem River or pass out first.... I think I‘ll pass a couple bookstores though.

Finally in NYC, and loving the view from my hotel room window. Time to clean up and go to the Strand (best bookstore in the country, imo)

mommyincolor Welcome to the Big Apple. As a native NYer I hope you get around to the indie book store here in The Bronx, The Lit Bar. 4mo
ReaperOfTerrasen @mommyincolor I may have to try and get up there. This is my second visit to the city and won‘t be my last. So if I don‘t make it up there this trip, I definitely will next one. But perhaps Monday or Tuesday I‘ll hop on the 6 and check it out. 4mo

So I found out my copy of Sky In the Deep was bound in its cover upside down, when closed and the cover is right-side up all of the pages inside are upside down. I made a post about it on Instagram and Adrienne Young responded! It made my day!

PS: Anyone ever bought or borrowed a book that had binding errors?

Branwen SO cool! I love this! 😃💕📚👍 4mo
Sweetkokoro I bought a book once where the middle pages were bound out of order and another where the last few pages where printed from a printer that clearly ran out of ink or had a blockage of some sort, half the page was not printed and it was right down the vertical center so you only got half of every line for 10 pages. 4mo
Saknicole I have a copy of All Quiet on the Western Front with 30 pages of a kind of Soviet spy thriller novel bound right in the middle. Text and headers totally different but page sizes the same. 4mo

Fable (Fable #1) | Adrienne Young
post image

1) Fable - Adrienne Young - Quite enjoying it so far.

2) A Sky Beyond The Storm - last finished book in 2020 and an excellent end to the year.

3) 50 - Last year‘s goal was 30, and did 51. We‘ll see how many books I can get finished before Hogwarts Legacy comes out. That game will probably distract me from everything for a time.

Final Day: Favorite Book of 2020

A Sky Beyond the Storm - Sabaa Tahir

While I‘m actually still reading Kingdom of the Wicked, it‘ll likely be the last book I finish in the year. And A Sky Beyond the Storm would be on top of anything, excellent final book to an excellent series.

Day 11: Favorite Book of November:
Ready Player Two

November was a fairly decent month for me in terms of reading. RP2 edges just slightly above Darkdawn as my favorite of the month. Even though it does take about 100 pages for the real story to begin, I liked the direction it went with arrogant AI menaces and world peril.

Branwen I still need to read it! 11mo
