Well I finished Inheritance on the second day of Fall. But I think I did pretty well reading Modern Mrs Darcy‘s Summer Reading Guide this year. I own Time After Time but I haven‘t gotten to it yet. October seems like the best time to read New York set books to me. I look forward to next year‘s guide! #modernmrsdarcy #summerreadingguide2019

Finished this one up in the setting sunlight on the back deck. Trying to soak up as much time outside that I can before the cold comes back!

While this isn‘t the strongest book in this series it was still interesting and rather topical. I think I like Gabriel more when he is actually allowed to be in the field.

Another great entry in this series. I found myself not really caring about the murder and just enjoying the characters and seeing how they think. It‘s all described so well. Right down to the flickering fires and cold Quebec weather. I did gasp out loud near the end which doesn‘t happen that often when I am reading!

I just started this series over the long weekend. And I already know that I am going to have to make sure I pace myself and not rush through it. I love Three Pines. The first two books are getting me into a Fall/Christmas/Winter mindset!

Melissa_J Your book holder looks so cute! 2mo
ReadingMeagan @Melissa_J Thank you! It‘s from a woman I follow on Instagram and who is a part of the Modern Mrs Darcy Book Club 😊 2mo
Laura317 You definitely need to pace yourself. I‘m about half way through the series, and will allow myself to read one every 3-4 months. The fact that Penny is still writing this series makes me giddy with relief. I will dread the day she ends it. 2mo
ReadingMeagan @Laura317 That sounds like a good plan! I‘m glad that I‘m not alone in needing to pace myself. I love finding an already established series that is still being written! 😊 2mo

I know that some people did not care for this book. But I liked it. It ties in well with the other female WWII spy books that I‘ve read this year. I read it in a day. I needed to find out what happened next. I can see how some people would be frustrated with it. I thought the end was rushed and could have been fleshed out more. But over all I liked it. Very atmospheric.

This was a so-so pick for me. It was cute, and I could picture Justin Hartley from This Is Us as Drew. But Annie was really annoying. It‘s one of those books where a lot of drama would be avoided if characters actually talked to one another instead of assuming they know everything. It made me want to go watch a bunch of rom-coms which is always a good idea 🤣

Another enjoyable book by Jenny Colgan. I always want to hop on a plane and go live in the places where her books take place. I feel like this one would be the perfect Fall read. I wish that it wasn‘t so hot out because a cup of tea and some freshly baked shortbread would be perfect with this book. Plus it takes place in the Fall. You don‘t need to read The Bookshop on the Corner to read this one. But it might make a bit more sense if you do.

This book reminded me of an old movie set in the Rivera (and I know that there are a couple of books set there this year). A mystery with a lot of twists and turns, I have read a lot of romance novels this year so I was hoping that there would be more in this book. But it is still a great summer read that will keep you up late trying to figure out why Eve was left something in a stranger‘s will.

But Luke Daniels is such a good old boy character- he just annoys me. Does he need to exist in 2019? I don‘t think so.
