Just purchased this one and am saving it to make an upcoming 12+ hour flight something enjoyable. Can't wait to get started on the book, wish I could say the same about the flight.

Este libro fue el segundo por Hernán Rivera Letelier que leí. ¡Me gustó tanto! Todavía leo sus libros, pero este es mi favorito. Como siempre, sus personajes son asombrosos, con el típico humor picante de los chilenos. Su narración provoca cosquillas.

The initial concept grabs you, the plot truly thickens and the years reveal unlikely twists and turns in the lives of these family members. It's one of those stories that haunts you long afterwards.

What a fantastic story. Told mostly through the voice of an elderly woman, not be be underestimated... The personification used everywhere makes it entirely touchable.

A story to keep coming back to... the storytelling, the characters and the events are compelling to say the least. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.

This is a beautiful story told through multiple narratives. I read it several years ago and it still haunts me. One of my very favourites.
