So many books to read, so little time!

The Fetch: A Novel | Laura Whitcomb

"'You're not one of those people who skips to the last sentence of a book to see how it ends, are you?' Calder Folded his arms, as well. 'When you wish to bake a chocolate cake, do you read every recipe in a cookbook about preparing meat before you get to the dessert chapter?'"

I read this book with the idea that this was "a supernatural romance". I was sorely disappointed. It was still very well written with amazing, descriptive settings. But it was not what I expected. In a way, it is a retelling of Anastasia. However, this is historical, supernatural fiction, not romance. I think I would've been happier with it if I had not expected a romance.
