(From the book, though not pictured above.)

“Women‘s voices changed the game. When women participated equally in the discussion, the groups arrived at different decisions; women swung the group. When women participated more, they brought unique and helpful perspectives to the issue under discussion.”

“It was only when Effia didn‘t speak or question, when she made herself small, that she could feel Baaba‘s love, or something like it.”

A universal conundrum that women feel they have make themselves small or not be noticed to be cared for.

Pickpick

I was for 7 days by the sea, without phone, internet...just me, love ones and Kindle. I read 3 books and all of them was disappointed for different reasons. This particular book is Social Study of Albanian society with an emphasis on the phenomenon of sworn-virgins or virgjineše. I have no objection to the content but on the technical/edit side of the e-book, which screwed up the whole reading experience for me. Ebook is without images (that are

Simona in paper book), without a transparent transition between section and without clear footnotes. If you are interested in this phenomenon you can check this http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/albania_swornvirgins and this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkan_sworn_virgins. JUST DON'T BUY THIS PARTICULAR EBOOK. 8y
