As much as I am frustrated by Angsty Harry in this volume of the series (and I also realize he has reason to be so), this is a beautiful moment where he sees beyond himself into someone else's fears. He gets a glimpse of how events are affecting those he cares about... as well as how much others care about him. #wagesofwar #hpchapteraday

#wagesofwar Molly Weasley has been through this before and she's trying her best to be prepared to go through this again. #hpchapteraday @Redjewel_7734

#hpchapteraday this chapter really highlights the true #wagesofwar. As Moody is detailing the fates of many in the original order & Mrs. Weasley faces her boggart, it becomes clear that the wages of war ate personal. We tend to think of war as this thing that happens between nations, ideological groups, & powers with anonymous citizens caught in between. But every individual involved is a personal to someone...

Redjewel_7734 Con't...in the current wars around the world, we have had certain personalizing moments with a picture or story that brings these wages of war home to us, but we need to be more active in not backing off from this knowledge. Every refugee, every casualty, every soldier matters & we need to find a way to remember & act on this instead of stepping away because they seem a faceless horde that we feel sorry for but don't mean anything to us. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Such a great book, great part, and very insightful connection to the world today! 7y

I know all the feels of this chapter belong, rightly, to Molly, but I am fascinated by how much time and effort Rowling spends bringing Crouch into disrepute. There are no lines he won't cross, no actions he can't defend, no plans he might make to keep his power. By the end of the chapter, Harry feels 'older', and is given a lesson in perspective and grief.
