Pickpick

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Oh I loved The Snake Stone so much! What a wild ride through 1838 Istanbul. An excellent historical mystery with a lot of suspense. I know Istanbul very well and therefore enjoyed every chapter in this book. Kept reading through the night. Short colorful chapters and lovely characters.
Will definitely read the other Yashim novels too.

Mitch This is what I love about Litsy - finding something new that I‘d never of thought of looking for! Looks great. 6y
TheBee Expect: a dying sultan, mosques, secret societies, old books, ancient artifacts, lots of history, underground water systems, murders and Yashim‘s cooking skills.
The best book to escape from the present. 🙂

Smrloomis I‘d never heard of this so thanks for posting it! It sounds intriguing! 6y

TheBee @Mitch @Smrloomis Great! That makes me happy! I remember seeing the book in a souvenir shop in Istanbul a few years ago. But I wanted to spend my money on shiny exotic and oriental treasures at the huge famous bazaar. 😄 I‘m glad it crossed my way again. It finally found its way to my bookshelf 😉. 6y
Smrloomis Interesting read, thanks. I especially liked that he said “You can cook the books” - nice! 6y

My new read brings me to Istanbul, year of 1838. Istanbul is my favorite city in the world. I have visited many times. It‘s so beautiful. Whenever I land at the airport I feel like coming home 😄. Maybe I have lived there in 1838 🤣.

Izai.Amorim Istanbul rocks! 6y
TheBee @Izai.Amorim if you like historical mysteries and Istanbul, then read this book. I loved it. It transported me right back to the Bosphorus! 6y
Izai.Amorim Thanks for the recommendation. I‘ll try to get it. Right now I‘m lying in bed listening to Turkish radio. They have one station in Berlin. It‘s like Istanbul! The coolest music. 6y
TheBee @Izai.Amorim Haha that sounds wonderful!! There is a big Turkish community in Berlin. I‘m sure there are many Turkish things to stumble upon. Especially the delicious food!!! 6y
