Equal Rites | Terry Pratchett

Book 3️⃣ of the #12booksof2020

This is a sentimental selection, falling as it does in what I‘m calling my #discwhirled (re)read. There are better Discworld books and better books featuring the Witches (IMO this book is a prototype for the eventual Tiffany Aching subseries). However, I needed Granny Weatherwax this year. Looking forward to continuing my Discworld reading at a faster pace in 2021.

I finished this roughly one million years ago, but it‘s about time for me to catch up on reviews now that it‘s December!

Early Discworld can be a little bit rough, and this certainly was, but I still greatly enjoyed it. I‘ve read it before at some point—I recognized the scene with Bethan.

Next up is Equal Rites, which I‘m quite looking forward to.

The Colour of Magic | Terry Pratchett
Pickpick

I‘m starting a Discworld reread in order of publication. This first entry in the series is not the strongest, and wouldn‘t really be worth it except for what comes later. Rincewind has never been my favourite Discworld character, and Pratchett is still working some things out. However, I loved the tourism satire, and I‘m very excited for what‘s to come.
