Dear Martin | Nic Stone

Pickpick

This was such a good book. I don‘t think I‘ve experienced anger like this from a book in a long time. Nic Stone tells a story of social injustice and prejudices, it‘s a history lesson and an examination of current times. Justyce faces hard choices and unfair situations and comes out a character I never stopped rooting for.

Needless to say I‘ve got Dear Justyce on hold now.

Soubhiville Another book I chose after seeing the author on a panel at #TexasTeenBookFestival #TexasBookFestival 3y
CoffeeNBooks This is a great book! I have a few copies of it in my classroom library, and they are always checked out. 3y
Cortg I really need to pick this one up and read it. It‘s been on my TBR for way too long! 3y

I heard Bill Kinigsberg speak last weekend during the #TexasTeenBookFestival. The panel he was on was about mental health, and this book is the most unique book I‘ve ever read about suicide and depression.

I‘m so very glad that books like this exist now, and wish they did when I was a kid. I am going to put a copy in my Little Free Library and hope it finds its way into hands that it can help.

I enjoyed the two panels I made it to yesterday for #TexasBookFestival #TexasTeenBookFestival.

I‘m planning on three for today!

This one was Rory Power, Nina LaCour, and Aiden Thomas, moderated by Ann Lyon. About YA Horror. It was delightful!
