This book was a pleasure to read. Sweet, clean, with faith underlying the actions of the MCs… And there were enough little things to figure out and twists in the plot to make the story hold my interest. It was a win for me. #inspirational #historical #Americanwest #cowboysandschoolmarms

The Secret | Rhonda Byrne

1 - Walking Off The Paved Pathway. My journey as I venture out of my comfort zone.

2 - Never read the book, yet the other day we watched the movie, “The Secret.“

My mom always raised my brother and I to think positively, be positive. In our cultural ways, my mom has even taught me that in everything I make, cooking/baking, gardening, craft/arts, to be positive while creating because what you make absorbs the energies.

This movie hit home.

AnnCrystal Thank you @dabbe for tagging me & @TheSpineView for creating this play~tag~share card. 7d

Gift from the Sea | Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Pickpick

I‘ve read and reread slim nonfiction book over the years. Each time I find new things that speak to me. Lindbergh compares different stages in a woman‘s life to various shells she finds on the beach. The shells aren‘t the point; it‘s what they represent that carries the weight of the work. She touches on maintaining your individuality as a woman despite marriage and motherhood, a difficult balance to find.

AvidReader25 Con‘t…I can‘t think of a single woman I wouldn‘t recommend this to. It‘s a lovely reminder to appreciate whatever stage you‘re in at the moment. I always fill my days with a million commitments and small tasks and this was a wonderful reminder to slow down and just enjoy the bliss of doing nothing sometimes. 2w
Suet624 I always think of my mother when I see someone post about this book. This was one of my mother's two favorite books. 2w
kspenmoll My mother loved this book & so admired Anne Morrow Lindberg. She gave copies to her 4 daughters & 3 daughter- in- laws when they married into the family. Your review is wonderful! 2w

AvidReader25 @Suet624 oh I love that! It makes me wonder what my kids might one day remember as my favorite books. 2w
AvidReader25 @kspenmoll that‘s wonderful! There is so much wisdom in this tiny book. It‘s definitely one I‘ve given as a gift as well. 2w
kspenmoll @AvidReader25 My mom was a voracious reader! This discussion made me decide to reread this book in summer when I visit my sister on Cape Cod.❤️ 2w

I don‘t like kitschy. I don‘t like sappy. So I was quite worried about this. It surprised me. Eddie dies trying to save young girl in a Ferris wheel accident. We know it‘s coming, so don‘t worry, that‘s not a spoiler! ☺️ The narrative follows him as he meets 5 important people in his life. I enjoyed the contemplative nature, the inter-connectedness of humanity. If you want to get off the roller-coaster and take a nice swan boat ride, this is it.

AshleyHoss820 I think this was on the #RoryGilmoreChallenge I‘m not sure I would have given it a chance otherwise, which is a shame. ☺️ 3w

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!
