Wonderful characters, a very human detective newly assigned to a fishing village in far north of Iceland,vivid description s of blinding snow storms, make this a 5 star whodunit for me.
#12DaysofChristmas #7SwansASwimming I'm picking Sara and Charlie Godfrey from this 1971 Newbery Medal winner that I read and enjoyed as a child. Charlie, 10, is mentally disabled after a childhood fever and loves to watch the swans swimming in the lake but disappears and Sara, his 14-year-old sister, must find him. I haven't read this one in years and years-I may have to see if the library has a copy and reread it. 📚💙
Mr. and Mrs. Mallard find a home in the Public Garden, where a big proud bird went a-swimming by. Not having been to Boston myself, I can't say exactly how many, but there very well could be #7swansaswimming .
