This is an accidental read. I was so eager to dive back into this world that I forgot to check which book this was in the series. It's 4...I haven't read 3 yet. It only occurred to me about halfway through when specific relationship details were being referenced to and I couldn't recall them. 🤦‍♀️

No matter; it was still enjoyable. Features a shadow government, men drained of their will, & an attempted coup of the Sin du Jour catering company.

Back to work for two days after a five day vacation, and did I call in today to see if the mail volumes were low enough I could take a day off? Yes. Yes, I did.

On the positive side of the not-guilty-flavored variety, that means I am available to watch the nibling after they were sick earlier this morning, and my sister needs to work and do homework today.

This series is ridiculous. Seriously, so much happens in each chapter.

Here are my stats for Feb! This is par-for-the-course for me, and though usually I'd feel a bit bad that I didn't get to read any nonfic for this month, but I think I can feel less guilty by knowing that I'm in the middle of reading a hefty history of the Medici family, and even when the author is a pretty good storyteller, it can still take time to get through something as weighty as that ^^;.

I don't think I can put into words why I love this series so much. But it's got snark and badass women and demons, and I can't wait until May 17 for the next novella!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5 ⭐️s.

And Wallace knocks it out of the park once again with this latest addition to the Sin du Jour series. There's a lot of funny bits, but not as many as in the previous books. Still a great read though because of the higher stakes - and that ENDING. Can't wait for the next one XD.

I binge-read the first three novellas in this series last year, and absolutely loved them (especially Lustlocked). Looking forward to having this as my bedtime read tonight XD.
