A short vignette, rather than a memoir, of the author's life as Diocesan Property Secretary for the Anglican Church of England for over 30 years. The author reflects on those he worked with & the characters he met, alongside the buildings & land he was responsible for.

OutsmartYourShelf except maybe the one with the goat being kept in the kitchen. I would probably describe most of them as mildly interesting.

What I did find interesting was the author's experience of a Church in decline, one that has gone from being the centre of village life to a mere afterthought. As a microcosm of the Church's diminishing importance in daily life,

OutsmartYourShelf I thought the author captured this very well & it's rather sad to see our Christian heritage sold off piecemeal. 3⭐
