Rewritten, expanded and fully updated, MRM5 encompasses all that needs to be known and done when a museum accessions, measures, marks, moves, and displays or stores an object/artifact of any kind. MRM5 includes expert advice from more than 60 acknowledged leaders in their disciplines. New with the 5th edition are special teaching sections that challenge students and seasoned staff alike with questions about the process and procedures of accessioning and caring for objects.

This beauty just arrived! I have been waiting since April (but publishing got paused so here we are). This is the end all be all for my career and I am so excited. If you would have told me I would be this pumped for basically the new edition of my grad school textbook well I‘d probably believe you bc I am a nerd. (Also my favorite professor is one of the new editors).

MRM5 is dead long live MRM6!

Here are a few #workplacebooks! This selection covers three museum fields I've worked in: historic interpretation (directly interacting with the public), exhibition design, and my current field, archives and collections management. Mostly I use Museum Reg Methods (MRM5) and A Legal Primer (Malaro), but the others are handy depending on the collection.

Also an ethics manual, because I guess we need that 😛

Library-Belle I totally need to find copies of these!!!!! 8y
becausetrains @Library-Belle they are expensive, but worth it 😎 they are the standard for museum practice - in the eastern US at least. Lots about copyright law, NAGPRA (Native Am repatriation rights), and ways to make sure you don't lose your artifacts in your collections storage facility ❤️ 8y
