A gripping, provocative, and sensual debut novel about an art historian who journeys to a Greek island to acquire a found sculpture for an American museum and quickly becomes immersed in a cultural tug-of-war and a complicated love affair. 1999: An island off the southern coast of Greece. Bailedbailed

Nope, I bailed at the halfway mark. I fell for the slightly provocative but also striking cover and the premise of the appropriation of Greek antiquities but this was so slow. At the halfway mark we‘ve still not got to the appropriation bit and remain stuck with our whiny protagonist, her therapy-filled childhood, prescription drug issues and ever threatened migraines. I thought this would suit heatwave reading in the garden but I was just bored.

squirrelbrain Ugh, sounds rather boring. 🥱 4mo

Mehso-so

Art & Greece, set in the 90s, beautiful backdrops- this is set to come out later in July in the states. I never felt fully invested in the characters, but the setting is what shined for me.
