Mango & Bambang: The Not-a-Pig (Book One)
Mango & Bambang: The Not-a-Pig (Book One) | Polly Faber
6 posts | 5 read | 7 to read
Mango Allsorts is good at all sorts of things, not just karate and chess. Bambang is most definitely not-a-pig and is now lost in a very busy city. When the two unexpectedly meet, a friendship begins. Bambang requires a great deal of coaxing and comforting to help him acclimate to the big city, and Mango is just the girl for the job. But when Mango faces a nerve-racking challenge of her own, will Bambang be able to return the favor? Filled with adventures and plenty of banana pancakes, this collection of four stories is sure to amuse and inspire any child or not-a-pig.

This series is just beautiful! Gorgeously yet simply illustrated, this book follows Mango and Bambang as they meet and their friendship blossoms. Recommended always but a particularly nice escape during a pandemic!

slategreyskies I‘ve never heard of this book. I‘ll have to look for it. :) 4y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @slategreyskies, it‘s a quartet. I realised I only had book 3 on my shelf so did a little online shopping to remedy the situation... and it seemed wrong to shelf them without reading them 😉😂 4y

The Mango & Bambang books are SO cute! I was sorely tempted to try and sneak this out of Tales On Moon Lane, but probably couldn't quite have gotten away with it. (And also I don't actually have space for it!)

So cute I can hardly even stand it! Seriously, the expressions on Bambang's face are perfect and a amazing. Very Dahl-esque, although sweeter and nobody dies.

This book also has some nice things to say, I think, about social anxiety and that it's okay to be who you are.

How adorable are these illustrations? I feel that way too when a lot of people are yelling at me, Bangbang.

This book is so whimsical and adorable. The illustrations are soo wonderful. There's very much a Paddington meets Eloise vibe to it. Also, I actually laughed out loud while reading this book.
