Some of these were very good, and I especially enjoyed the two Sherlockian tales, but several just didn‘t meet the mark.
Obviously, they‘re of their time and there are casual ethnic slurs and sexism afoot, but if you can get over those (why in the world would a “chop suey shop” feel dangerous???) and you love bibliomysteries, it might be worth a read.
Definitely #borrowNotBuy as far as I‘m concerned. 📚 🔍
