This didn‘t always grab me and haul me along, but I definitely enjoyed following the twists of Lore, Bastian, Gabe, and their friends and gods. The ending was very satisfying… in that it‘s the second book of a trilogy and I have no idea what‘s going to come in the third book. I‘ll definitely be reading it, though!

4/5

Bastian is King and Lore is tied more closely to him than ever before, but the more they channel, the more strangely Bastian behaves.

The beginning was a little slow, since the characters were taking a long time to understand something I felt was clear from the first book, but I thought the second half did a good job of raising the stakes and finding the right amount of conflict and resolution for the 2nd book in a trilogy.

This begins shortly after the events of book one. It was a little slow and mainly focused on character development. Lore was more passive in this one than the first one.
I really enjoyed this story, I feel like maybe it could have been wrapped up in these two books, but I am looking forward to seeing what book three brings.
