A friend of Ravenscroft is accused of murder, one of three that takes place. He and Crabb have to find the true culprit before he is tried and hanged. What transpires is a difficult and intriguing story. A heartwarming, Christmas mystery with a shocking but misleading 'false' ending. 5*
