Unthink
Unthink: Rediscover Your Creative Genius | Erik Wahl
6 posts | 3 read
In the tradition of A Whole New Mind and The War of Art, graffiti artist and corporate thought leader, Erik Wahl explores the power of creativity to achieve superior performance. Somehow we’ve come to believe that creativity is reserved for the chosen few: the poets, the painters, the writers. The truth is creativity is in all of us and re-discovering it is the key to unlocking your fullest potential. Unthink is a book that pushes us beyond our traditional thought patterns. Unthink is a book that will inspire everyone to realize that we are capable of so much more than we have pre-conditioned for. Creativity is not in one special place--and it is not in one special person. Creativity is everywhere and in everyone who has the courage to unleash their creative genius.

There's nothing particularly wrong with this book. I just find it a little ironic that for a book on creativity, I feel like I've read most of the content in other places before. #nonfiction #creativity

"Artists were a small band of outsiders. Insiders were placed in an education track in which you were PRAISED for PARROTING information in PREEXISTING, PREDEFINED answers--for using logic and memory rather than imagination and creativity." What a beautiful sentence.

Starting this book for the second time - giddy and frightening all at once. It inspires me to get proactive with my dreams and goals, but is overwhelming as in it forces me to look failure right in the face.

When you're flight is delayed, you have an additional 30 minutes waiting after landing for a gate to open up, and then you still have luggage to be unloaded - starting the new Erik Wahl read is a good way to demand a shift in your mindset......

I think Wahl's writing my life right now, not his.
Diving into a book I would typically not pick up--under any circumstances--thanks to my dad, who knew the message would apply.
