The Shadow Out of Time
The Shadow Out of Time | Ian Culbard
1 post | 1 read
Miskatonic University, Arkham, 1908. Professor Nathaniel Peaslee collapses in front of a class of students, only coming to his senses five years later. Horrified to discover that his body has been far from inactive during the intervening period -- and plagued by unsettling and outlandish nightmares -- Peaslee attempts to piece together the truth behind the missing years of his life. A chilling journey through time, space, and the recesses of the mind, this newly reissued adaptation gives terrifying form to one of H.P. Lovecraft's final tales.

Mehso-so

A graphic novel adaptation of a final Lovecraft tale that brings together elements of his earlier works; a story of dreams and recovered memories of past lives. Lovecraft is an unusual choice. So much of the pleasure that comes from reading him is his language and the horror is lurking and ineffable. I liked seeing his descriptions put to page & appreciated the beauty, but missed the creeping horror I usually feel when reading his stories.
